What A Weekend!

The kids Easter morning. It was so cute, I wanted a picture of the girls and Jenise leaned forward on her knees to be closer to JiaLi's height and then JiaLi did the same thing.

This weekend was one of those weekends where we realize how lucky and blessed we are! Friday began with the annual egg coloring over Joe's brother's house. Yes, Mommy should have received the lecture about watching your child to avoid spilling instead of getting all caught up in picture taking:) JiaLi and Edward thought the blue was a great color and that it matched their shirts. Daddy even got into it with the heat gun to attach some Star Wars stickers for the kids. Easter morning the kids anxiously waited upstairs to go down to see if the Easter bunny came. We are probably the only house that the Easter bunny brought YuGiOh cards. The kids also received books--JiaLi's was about Planes and we lost count how many times we read the book Easter morning. Edward is all excited to go search for the eggs because he has already spotted some. JiaLi actually found an egg this a.m.(Monday morning) that was missed by everyone.

Next, we traveled to Grandma's and Pepee's for dinner. Here are the boys with Pepee. The Easter bunny hid eggs at their house too. He is so crazy!! The kids received some gifts in blue bags(the boys) and pink bags(the girls) and JiaLi was so proud of her bag and carried it like a pocketbook all over the house while staying attached to Jenise.

Finally to Joe's brother's where the egg hunt happened outside. I did not see the specific temperature but Joe's Mom said she heard it was the coldest Easter that has occurred in 100 years. We had to bundle up for the hunt and then come back inside to open the eggs. Usually the kids do it outside but this year we were in. Here are all the cousins with Gramma + Papa. Of course the cold did not stop JiaLi from eating her ice cream.

Growing Too Fast

Kids just grow too fast!! Here is a picture of Edward and JiaLi last year and the two of them this year. I also posted pictures from last year's Easter. JiaLi would not look at the camera. The pictures with her looking at the camera are from today. Who can blame her though? It was her first Easter egg hunt(actually her third--one at home, one at Grandma and Pepee's and then the last one at Uncle Jeff and Auntie Amy's). I am so excited for Easter this year to watch all the kids. We have our annual get-together this Friday to do the egg coloring thing. I will never forget last year. JiaLi had such a good time and it was a real laugh/smile not just a smile to go along with the program. I can't wait to take pictures--I forgot my camera last year. I am also excited for Easter to celebrate Easter but to also try to get a picture of all the kids all dressed up. Of course, right now, JiaLi is the only one with options to wear. We are so thankful to all our friends who have passed down clothes. She honestly has a closet full of clothes and I have not purchased one item. Poor Jenise is the oldest girl in the bunch and has a Mom who is not the best of shoppers. I really need to get her something--I even went through our summer clothes this weekend hoping to come across something and they have grown so much that I now have to go shopping. JiaLi has all these beautiful dresses to choose from and Jenise has none. I need to at least get her something dressy--she is such a good sport and doesn't point out that she has no clothes but it's a Mom thing feeling bad. Easter is the one opportunity to have fancy clothes on.

This Weekend

Friday night, Danny had a special treat going out with his cousins for his birthday. He went shopping and then went to their house to hang out. Mommy and Daddy told the others they could stay up till Danny got home. BIG MISTAKE! Danny got home after 9 p.m. Here they are waiting on the couch and then JiaLi decided to make herself a bed under the coffee table. Yes she had her kitten to keep her comfy. Her blankie was in her bed to avoid getting lost. Saturday Mommy went to visit Grandma and Pepee with the kids while Daddy started on an idea we have to try to make a little money to afford an adoption. We were so excited to be able to go outside. The kids played baseball with Pepee pitching to them and Edward decided to play basketball. JiaLi just played with everything. Before we left, Pepee gave Danny some basketball tips--always the teacher. Saturday we had Joe's sisters kids for a sleepover. Here they are the next morning. This was the first time JiaLi had a sleepover in her room. Last time we had someone sleepover, JiaLi slept in our room to avoid any middle of the night waking up. Although JiaLi did wake-up(only once), everyone stayed in the room:) JiaLi was very excited that her cousin slept in their room.

To conclude the weekend, we had to get outside. Before supper, we went out and played some football.

Edward was very excited about spotting our first flowers. Spring is here!!!
